New crossings....

New steel crossings have been installed on Canal Street. These are from Woodland Scenics and are quite nice looking and easy to install. The road gravel has also been extended up to the crossings. The wood crossing into McGraw fuel and oil may be either replaced as well, or taken out and the driveway closed off as the crossing seems to keep lifting up causing some cars to climb up over top of it and derail....

What's old is new again....

I found stored away in an old train box a car I had forgotten about, this Accurail 50' ft ex-PRR boxcar patched for PC and weathered. It now rejoins the fleet and was spotted today on the team track:

From our house to yours....!

Switching Monsanto Chemical....

Here is part three of PC NW2 8806 switching out Monsanto Chemical. I'll simply post this series of photos we took of the recent action. Apparently 8806 has now been leased out to Monsanto to service the facility....

Next up: we catch 5628 bringing the local in and out of the area and switching....

Winter on the subdivision.....

Some AI fun this morning as winter arrives on the subdivision with a blinding snowstorm! One problem with AI however, as it distorts the locomotive number!

Railfan outing part two....

Here is part two of our recent outing down to our usual spot down along the river. Today we catch 5628 delivering several cars down the main for NW2 8806 to pick up and spot.

Today 8806 is swapping out an all door lumber car and PC reefer for a WP boxcar for Armitage and an N & W insulated boxcar for Stephen's Grocery distributor. Photos below of the action:

In part three we'll watch as 8806 switches Monsanto Chemical.....

Railfan outing part 1....

Being on vacation for two weeks and out of town, we missed our usual trips to railfan the Cincinnati terminal subdivision west of downtown. Back in town again, we headed down along the river to catch some action.

These are all scenes from yesterday as GP7 5628 did the honors on the local. We first caught him by the crew shack getting his paperwork to start the day:

We then caught the crew switching out the fuel and oil dealer:

The crew next pulled two scrap gons out of Sullivan scrap:

Finally, we see the crew stop opposite the diner as they went to lunch, so we did the same. I'll be back with part two as the crew resumes their work! Stay tuned.....
