Scenes from operations recently…..

Several days ago I operated on the layout on a rare off day. Here are scenes from the operating session:

Coming soon perhaps…..?

Perhaps coming soon to the layout is the EZ Line product to add power lines to the utility poles and buildings. Here’s a link to the product:  https://www.showcaseminiatures.net/paint_tools/ezline/EZLine.html

Operations yesterday….

Yesterday during a lunch break we were able to head down to the area around Canal Street to catch the PC local. We first caught him pulling an L&N boxcar off the team track , then pulling the empty all door boxcar from Armitage Furniture as seen below:

Next move by the local found him shoving a B&O gondola into Paxton-Sullivan scrap shown below:

We then caught the local bringing in three cars, one, a loaded PC 50’ boxcar to the team track, a UPFE reefer for Stephen’s Grocery Distributor, and an interesting car for Armitage Furniture, a C&NW boxcar without doors for woodchip loading only! These moves are shown below:

At this point, we ran out of time. More next time……

A maze of track work….

Look around any industrial complex and you’ll see a maze of tracks. Such was and is the case in the area I decided to model, that is the industrial trackage around the huge P&G complex and surrounding area in the Cincinnati suburb of St. Bernard. I think especially with the new backgrounds I’ve accomplished that feel of being in a large industrial area!

More operations….

Yesterday found us back down by trackside to catch some train action. We first caught PC 5628 in the locomotive pocket by the yard office. Next, we caught him switching Paxton/Sullivan scrap, shoving a weathered Southern gondola into the yard.

We next watched as he pulled an empty gasoline tank car out of the fuel dealer, then spotted a 50’ ft Milwaukee Road boxcar onto the team track to be unloaded after the L&N car. We also got a surprise and noticed a B& O SW8 waiting out of the way inside the P&G complex.

Photos of the day's action below:

Backdrops added….!

Yesterday I was able to purchase two great looking photo backdrops made by Realistic Backgrounds and installed them. It only took two, as they are pretty long. These really make a HUGE difference in the layout, adding for one a lot of depth to any scene or photo. I really think these look great! More photos below….

A huge thank you....!

Just a shout out to all those looking at this website for my layout for the fact it just turned over 10,000 views yesterday! So a BIG thank...
