Recent action…..

As we return to our usual railfan spots along the Ohio River, we  once again came across the local out of Riverside yard. Using the usual locomotive, GP7 5628, we first caught the crew switching out Paxton-Sullivan scrap:

Next, the crew came down the lead to the team track and Armitage Furniture to pick up the C&NW woodchip car plus the Seattle and North Coast boxcar off the team track. This involved re-spotting the coil car to the team track dock for later unloading:

Finally, the crew spotted a Cotton Belt boxcar at Armitage:

That’s all for now! Stay tuned as we watch the crew switch McGraw oil and fuel plus Monsanto….

Next railfan outing….

The other day we got a late start to our usual railfan activity, so this led to catching the second trick local crew working the local industries along the Ohio River. We first found usual unit 5628 pulling scrap jobs out of Paxton-Sullivan scrapyard as seen below:

Next, the crew pulled three boxcars from Armitage Furniture, Stephen’s Grocery, and the team track as seen below:

As we hit a late start, it was already dusk when the crew took a break for lunch we’re assuming. When they returned to finish switching any inbound cars, night had fallen so we stuck around to catch the crew finishing their work. Photos we took of the crew spotting cars are seen below. In talking to the. Few it appears the third truck crew was switching out Monsanto Chemical, so we’ll cover this free next time! For now, here’s the photos of the second trick crew:
