Railfan day….
Once again we ventured out to catch the local out of Riverside yard switching out the industries along the Ohio River. The crew today was using NW2 8806 to switch. We first caught him along Canal Street pulling the cars from the team track as seen below:
Next as seen above the crew pulled the all door car from Armitage and the Southern reefer from Stephen’s Distributors. The crew then replaced these cars with a 50’ PC boxcar to the team track, a PC reefer to Stephen’s, and a Cotton Belt boxcar to Armitage Furniture:
We soon ran out of time but next time we’ll catch the crew switching out Monsanto again so stay tuned!

More details….
Yesterday I rusted up several more drums for Monsanto Chemical and placed those plus painted up several pallets for the same area as seen below. Also had two broken pallets that wound up in the roll off dumpster at Armitage Furniture:

Details, details……
It’s always details that make a layout stand out and come to life. I’m always on the lookout for details, especially little small details for the layout. With that said, today I picked up a pack of picnic tables and benches by JEB Mfg of Missouri. These I airbrushed with medium brown paint and placed on one side of the diner/pancake house while I moved the two garbage cans to the other side, both shown below:

Latest PC action….
We were out and about yesterday catching the local crew out of Riverside yard switching the industries out along the river. We first caught the crew in old 5628 switching out the scrapyard as shown below:
Next, the crew started pulling the cars off the team track spur so as to pull out the empty HLMX boxcar and spot the EEC ex Berlin Mills car:
We took a break to eat lunch as the crew also decided to go eat before they finished their work, with the crew parking 5628 right in front of us:
When the crew returned they pulled the empties from Stephen’s Grocery and Armitage Furniture and replaced these cars with a Southern reefer and an all door boxcar:
Finally, the crew shoved a PRR 50’ boxcar into the off spot on the team track:
With that work finished, the crew ran back to the crew shack to await any other switching chores. Stay tuned for another new car soon….!
A huge thank you....!
