Yesterday we went down to do some railfanning along the PC and caught the usual locomotive, GP7 5628 fired up by the yard office ready to start the day. We watched from a public area while the crew boarded and moved out.
First order of business was to head into the team track and remove the L&N boxcar as shown below:
After shoving it out of the way, 5628 picked up a C&O reefer, shoved it into the grocery distributor siding, coupled up to the empty reefer and an empty boxcar from Armitage Furniture, and proceeded to shove the empties onto the team track, then spotted the C& O reefer:
After spotting these and shoving the empties down the main with the L& N car, 5628 then proceeded to stop near the yard office for the crew to have lunch:
After the crew finished, it was time to pull two scrap gondolas from the scrapyard and spot a Chessie System gondola:
With this done, we ran out of time and had to leave. More next time….
