Part three…..

A little bit late in posting part three, but here we pick up on our last railfan outing. Starting with where we left off, the crew of the local today was driven over by crew taxi outside the entrance to Paxton-Sullivan scrap as 5628 was left in their siding as seen above.

First we caught 5628 heading down the main to pick up its cars for today’s work, the first one being a C&O reefer for Stephen’s Grocery, then shoving it down the siding to the dock:

So we assumed the Galveston Wharves boxcar was not completely unloaded, so the crew didn’t work the team track this trip. The next car was a SOO Line bulkhead flat with more lumber. This is the second time recently we’ve seen a load of lumber like this on flats, so we assumed also that Armitage must have a huge special order to produce! Photos below of this move:

The next moves the crew made was to move a B&O plus Illinois Terminal scrap gondolas into the scrapyard:

Finally we watched the crew move a GATX tank car of gasoline into McGraw fuel oil and gasoline dealer as shown:

With this we again ran out of time, so we didn’t get to see the crew work Monsanto so we’ll save that for the next time!
